New images from my "Purgatory" series are at aamora.com
This was our bedroom in 1983, late at night with one of the scrambled channels on - I loved the crazy images, shot lots of frames of the screen only. Here I wanted the whole scene, but it was impossible to expose both the TV screen and the background properly in one shot. So I put my OM2 on a tripod and shot two frames of film - one for the screen, one for the background - but at the time I had no way of combining them into one image. In '92 I got access to a Nikon film scanner and Photoshop (1.07 I think it was) so I scanned the two images and combined them, but I was unhappy with the perspective distortion, so it stalled again. I just happened to run into the file while looking through some old stuff, and of course with Photoshop CS3 fixing it was a snap. So this image took 24 years from start to finish! And this is what the scene _really_ looked like, I had a green bulb in that lamp behind the TV. Hey, it was the 80's :D
