"Caught this small bunch of cow elk near Norris Junction YNP in late May. As near as I could tell they were all still carrying calves. The elk population is down a considerable bit due to wolf predation. There were three young bulls following them just out of the shot."

Nice wildlife shot, you have quite a collection of them. Back in the 50's I got a photo of Elk along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Peaks of Otter.

Beautiful shot and an exciting page out of their history - but they'll never know. That's why I love photography - most times, you share the moment with God and the unwitting subjects. If you're lucky, you have someone special with you to share the moment, 'cause sometimes they're so unbelievable they take your breath away.

David, I spent a week in YNP in late May and saw very few elks. The wolves have reduced the once-great herds. I have mixed feelings about it. Good shot. (YNP Ranger, 2009)

A great moment captured! A few years ago a large group of elk crossed the highway in front of me and of course I had no camera with me, but I won`t ever forget seeing them..
