I joined Mani family to the temple inauguration festival at his wife's native village.

We shared our few days there staying at her parents home and sister's.

Parents had erected a cement house while sister and her family live in the traditional mud house with rice hay roof.

the light comes from around the raised roof, just sunlight. But in early morning and night it's easier to see better cooking outdoors.

Although Malar lives a cement house in the central rural town with built in cement shelving and tops and fitted with gas burners, it seemed she wasted no time getting back to basics she grew up on
