Rainbow Trout Carving
If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).
Collections are a JPG+ feature. You must be a JPG+ member to create new collections and to add photos to collections.

After this I looked, and behold a door was opened in heaven...and the first voice I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me, which said, come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter...Revelations 4: 1
My late father carved this fish from wood in July of 2000 ..He was hooked on carving fish after he retired from the Great Lakes as a Wheels man...I am very proud of him that he had this inspiring hobby that he so enjoyed until he had his stroke in 2002 and the following year in 2003 he passed away... If Daddy were still alive he would be 105 years old on August 5th...I dedicate this page to him and I wish he were still living so that he would be the one standing here holding his fish instead of me. But maybe in the hereafter he is still carving as he did so diligently on earth.
This was a tough one to photograph ...We had very contrasty weather earlier today but for a little
while this afternoon the sun went behind the clouds ... I opened to F/8 and used manual focus. I found that it was easier to get a clearer focus when I pre- focused on the wooden wall behind me before I set the timer. I am especially pleased how precisely the colors came out on the fish. It felt like I was on a lake fishing today as the mosquitoes were biting viciously as I stood there:)
