If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

Also known as the Catalan Way towards Independence, was a 480-kilometre (300 mi) human chain, in support of Catalan Independence from (Spain) España. It was organized by the (ANC) Assemblea Nacional Catalana, and took place in Catalunya on the 11th of September 2013, which is also a National Holiday day here in Catalunya. The Department of the Interior of Catalunya estimated the number of participants at about 1.6 million. The assembled protest was supported by 14 non- governmental groups. The human chain followed the ancient road of Via Augusta from Le Perthus (France, Vallespir) up to Alcanar (Spain, Montsià). According to Carme Forcadell, president of the ANC, it was "a symbol of the unity of Catalan people to achieve national sovereignty"
Plans for the Catalan Way were presented for the first time on 19 June 2013, at the Museu d'Història de Catalunya; the inspiration for this was the 1989 Baltic Way.
The presentation included Henn Karits and Ülo Laanoja, two members of the organization which staged the Baltic Way.
Three weeks before the event, more than 350,000 people had registered to participate. In total, the organizers mobilized about 1,500 buses and 30,000 volunteers to help organize the event.
