Well we all knew it had to end sometime.
And it did today .

This year fall has been much warmer than normal.
It wasn't summer time warm but not all that far from it.
More like late spring/early summer warm.

I'm up between 5:30 and 6am every morning.
As I walked into the kitchen to get my Columbian perking on the stove I thought I saw something fly past the window out of the corner of my eye.

Sure enough it was snowing and not just a few light flurries.
These were those big wet early winter snowflakes and they were flying fast and heavy !

Fortunatley the ground is still to warm for the snow to pile up but my truck had a fairly heavy coat of the white stuff building up on it.
Day after day it's been warm and sunny with temps in the high 60s to mid 70s.

In fact a little over a week ago it got up to 82 degrees.
With the weather being so warm we aren't seeing those brilliant classic fall colors.

Until today there was still plenty of green left on the trees.
With the snow falling and the temps nosediving it's not looking good for capturing N.E.Ohio decked out in her usual awesome fall finery.

I'm slightly disappointed but how can anybody complain about the two month summer extension we were blessed with this year ?
It's best to be thankful for this extral long summer because we may not see this again for 20 years or more.

But this is Ohio and today we got a taste of all 4 seasons in less than 18 hours.
After the early morning snow squalls the sky cleared, the sun popped out and it started to warm up nicely.

Then a mini cold front rolled in and the rain started.
The rain changed over to sleet and back to more snow until the sky cleared again and the sun came out.

This went on all day but just as the sun was setting the sky treated us to a fantastic fall light show and that's always worth a few photographs and watching until it's completely gone

Glorious capture, and yes, looking out the window and seeing the lilacs, privet, and other branches bent over from the snow and ice. It's a mess in parts of Cleveland's east side.
