How did I spend my Thanksgiving in 2007? I'll give you a hint... I wasn't at the dinner table surrounded by family and great food. OK- There's a picture of Sumo Wrestling above, maybe it is obvious.

I found myself halfway around the world in Japan during the week of Thanksgiving. On the 22nd, there was no turkey and no family, but there were hours of Sumo and Japanese snacks.

The tournament was very interesting. There is so much more respect and tradition in it than any common sport in America. The wrestlers were very kind as well, you could walk down under the bleachers and hang around them as they prepared to enter. Most shook hands, signed autographs, and posed for pictures with ecstatic fans.

This captured moment was pretty unbelievable. I think that it fits the "Split-second" theme well. This action isn't very common in Sumo from what I have gathered. The crowd went wild an instant after this and I looked down at my camera to find my shot of it.

Enjoy!
