Q: I am really into my wildlife photography but cannot afford a super zoom lens, I have a 300mm and am considering a teleconvertor. Has anybody had a experience with these and would you recommend them?

A: Do you know?

My little children, Let us not love in word but in deed and in truth...I John 3: 18

I got permission from Menard's to photograph some of their nice Christmas decorations in their store that were beautifully on display this year...I showed another version of Santa feeding the birds earlier but got even closer on this shot...and used a different angle. ( Menard's had a "Christmas village" of their own, sectioned off from the rest of the store with lit decorations.)

Santa does his work
And fills the needs
Not only with words
But with kind deeds!

The feathered birds...
With beak to seed
Do not speak words,
Tho' they sing indeed!

It's great that Menard's let you photograph in their store, a lot of stores will not allow it. You got a great shot of this Christmas decoration : )

Thanks for your comments...I know what you mean about some stores not allowing people to
shoot pictures...In fact that happened to me several years ago in a similar store and that is
why I asked permission to the salesclerk who happened to be in the area.and he was fine
with it..I was very impressed with their decorating skills and the hard work that went into it..I'll
have to admit that they had the best display room of any stores that we shopped in.

I know security will not allow you to photograph anything inside the malls near us. They told me it is a violation of shopper's privacy, and is also a security violation.

Thank you for the comments.....Patty, I asked one of the clerks who was in the designated
area where Menard's had the decorations on display if he minded if I shot some pictures
of their beautiful Christmas display and he gave me permission...otherwise I would not have done it....I do know some stores will not allow it ...At the time that I shot the pictures it was
in November and the area where the display was shown had very few Christmas shoppers.
therefore i was not obstructing traffic.
