Who maketh the clouds his chariot: Who walketh upon the wings of the wind? Psalms 104: 3

Ere' the blue jay
Flapped his wings
To fly away....
He slapped the winds
From winters sky,
And waved goodbye...

Poetry by me AJP

We are predicted to get a temp of -28 °F Sunday night ...Schools are closing on Monday in our area because of the frigid weather. " Wind chill values: 35 to 65 below... with the coldest readings Sunday night and Monday morning. .. areas of blowing snow are possible as winds gust as high as 35 mph Sunday afternoon and night."

*This morning on Sunday January 5th my husband and I walked a total of 1/4 mile to our mail box at the end of our driveway and back to pick up the Sunday paper and it felt like it was -15 °F already...We dressed in heavy layers and we looked like the Good Year Blimp but it stopped us from freezing. I felt the cold more on the way back when we faced the wind....I did not take the camera with me as it was just too cold to operate it.

These birds are very expressive and so beautiful.. and you capturerd that so perfectly! Your temps sound very harsh indeed, Andrea.. and I am glad that the schools are closing. We are also back in the deep freeze here again after having a couple days of above freezing temps. This winter has been a roller coaster ride.. and I can`t wait for spring to come:) .. The lighting and background in this capture is fabulous.. and it makes for a very beautiful image!!

Thank you all for the comments.. Yes, Donald hopefully we will have enough firewood to take us
over the winter ..But then we often hear of people's furnaces not always functioning in this kind of weather also...We for sure are looking forward to spring.

Fantastic capture of the Blue Jay in the wind. Love that expression on its face and how you captured the wings blowing up with the wind.
