Almost half of the trees in this already thinning stand of trees were downed in a windstorm we had in January.. I have taken many of my favorite hoarfrost shots here, but the trees that provided the best shots are now fallen.. these are just a few of them and I can now see right through them, which I couldn`t before.

This is pure poetry. The fallen trees were felled by nature, not by man. It is a good thing. They will provide nutrients and shelter for ground-dwelling creatures, and they will open the forest to more sunlight and stronger and healthier trees.

At least mother nature doesn't intend to build a parking lot or a mall here.

It is a beautiful shot Heather...I can well imagine what a surprise this was to see the felled trees...The wind really does take some of our best trees ... I still miss our weeping willow tree before it was knocked down but thankfully had taken many pictures of it when it was still standing as I know you have also of your trees...
