In the wee small hours Sunday I had some rather startling changes to the vision in my left eye (4 months post corneal transplant). I described them to the on call doc and she said, "We'll see you at 8 am Monday morning". She suspected a retinal tear or detachment. We headed to Indy in the afternoon and holed up in a local hotel waiting for the appointment. It ended up being a vitreous hemorrhage that is holding. They let me come home to see a retina specialist in the area.

Anyway... we were on the road home by 10:30 am and just took our time getting here. While meandering, we stumbled on this adandoned farm house tucked in the hills of Kentucky. I took a few then smiled when I saw the latest challenge later in the evening, knowing what was in the camera. Nature does find its way in AND out.

Sometimes ya' just need lightbox.

A challenging, difficult, worrisome trip revealed its silver lining on the way home. Pure serendipity. I wish you only the best in your continuing recovery.

There is nothing like a real "eye" opener to know what is important in life. Glad that your camera eye hasn't lost its skill and hope that all goes well with your vision.

Thankful it was no worse and that you could come home, Coop. And what a treasure you happened upon and captured so beautifully. Among the very best for this theme.

You have a "good eye" for photography, another beauty. Take care of your eyes, they don't make artificial ones like my knee.
