Q: has anyone bought the leash and cuff quick connect straps wondering how they work in real life

A: Do you know?

Surprise. I have been away and this face along with about 300 other ones like it are why. It is funny where lifes twist and turns lead you. I never imagined when I volunteered to photograph the local rescues dogs that I would be operating a rescue of my own. We started Critical Care for Animal Angels in Warner Robins Georgia in the summer of 2012. Since then, we have rescued over 300 dogs and cats. Most of them have been sick or injured. The majority of those have been fully vetted, spayed or neutered, trained and rehomed. Still, I turn away many day after day. We were a part of the force that made spay/neuter mandatory in Macon, Georgia. We are currently trying to work with local flea markets to stop the sale of puppy mill dogs. We are working with local law enforcement agencies to stop dog fighting in our area. We have busted out several puppy mills taking in dogs that have never been handled by people. We have crawled thru dead animals to get to the remaining live ones. We have taken in court cases of animals that have been beaten, starved, fought, set on fire... The cruelty of people does not shock me anymore but it does break my heart. Please volunteer at your local pound or shelter. If you can't volunteer, please donate, or foster or adopt.

I feel bad about posting a picture when I don't have time to comment back. I miss all of my dear friends terribly but when I look into faces like Arizona's, I have to help. She is a puppy mill mother dog. She is three years old and had never been touched. When I caught her, she had dead dogs all around her. We pulled 23 live dogs out of that situation. She bit me many times. After her bath and her vetting, I brought her home. She is now cuddling and greeting me when I come in the door. She will be going to her forever home next week.

Ah! If i were younger, I'd be setting up a similar non-profit and going at it full time. I can only ask myself why, if I spend so much time rescuing and rehoming on my own and helping others, and those in our high kill county facility up the road, why didn't I do it years ago? So, congratulations! You are doing angel's work. If you contact me, I will put you in touch with two ladies who run Diamonds in the Ruff rescue in Soperton. It's always good to network.
