My soul waits thou only upon God for my expectation is from Him. Psalms 62: 5

Fun time for me in summer
is sunshine and flowers;
Some grow high in number
After continual showers
While others slumber.

On mother's birthday
The sun came out today
If only just a little while,
It gave a welcome smile.

A mother's memory to love..
Is from her inspiration
and for God's gifts above...
That exceed our expectation.
Poetry by me AJP

Mother loved sunshine and flowers but she became depressed when the skies were gray for too many days. When the sun came through the clouds for my self portrait today I thought of her pretty smile and how she would have welcomed the sunshine to lift her spirits. I also love sunshine with flowers and really anticipate the arrival of our Delphiniums and Asiatic Lilies that bloom in the summer..Anticipation can be defined as pleasurable expectation and the size of these flowers after continual rain this summer have more than fulfilled my expectations. Some of our flowers such as Zinnias that are usually tough did not make it due to our extreme winter we had this past year..

Thank you so very much for the spotlight Davide Simone on 7-18-2013..

    Thank you all....Ann they are delphiniums and Asiatic lilies that we planted and they have
    grown very tall from so much rain this summer.

    Andrea, thanks for letting me know what the flowers are. I don't believe that I have seen delphiniums before, but I have some Asiatic lilies in pots and they are about ready to bloom. Mine are very small compared to yours which are taller than you - they are beautiful !!! Maybe if I had the Asiatic lilies in the ground they might get as tall as yours do.
