This photograph of the Providence, RI skyline was created using my Diana+ camera's pinhole feature. This was a 15 minute exposure from my tripod set up in Prospect Terrace Park.
Many beautiful images of Providence are made from this location. On any given day, dozens of pro, amateur, and student (RISD is close by) photographers and painters set up at this location. I admit my plastic Diana+ looked pretty goofy on top of a tripod. At one point a curious couple walked up to my camera and stuck their faces in front of it while I was taking another 15 minute exposure! That image didn't come out, unfortunately. I was very curious to see what it would have looked like!!!
Nicoleand I froze our toes off that afternoon/night. When its warm outside, we spend much of our time here.
Created using my Diana+ using the pinhole feature and panoramic film mask with expired AGFA RSX-II slide film. Positive scanned with my Epson v700 Perfection scanner. No digital manipulation used!

I like the soft effect. It adds interest. . . something new to the sunset genra.

I love the soft somewhat muted (yet not) colors. (and that would have been funny to see the other shot! heh) Really nice job. =)

Good guess of exposure. I think it you did it for 15 more minutes, you would have lost the vibrant colors in the sky.

it really was just a lucky guess. the manual calls for a 1-2 hour exposure at night and (as you know Nicole, since you were there) it was between day and night, so i kinda estimated. also, it was wicked cold out and i dont think we wanted to hang around for hours...

That's a damned impressive technical feat, with a beautiful result. Has my vote.
