Nature's Palette

A totally natural pnenomenon that I happen to encounter on a photography cycling trip in Pulau Ubin, a small island 1/2 hr boat ride from the Mainland Singapore. We were renting the bikes when we hear a commotion"
look at they sky". We lift our heads & this is what we saw, an amazing sight that we have not seen before in our life, nor, I think that we would ever see it again. The rainbow formation behind the clouds were so beautiful & heavenly that all of us couldn't take our eyes away (but we didn't forget to take up our cameras to keep shooting, trying to record this wonderful phenonmenon), the villagers there, esp the children were so delighted with this sight. But this sight did not stay long. Not long after , rain comes & become heavy downpour, the sight also gone. I was told that this are "The ice crystals at the top of the cumulonimbus cloud, diffracting the light into the colors of the rainbow! That is a phenomenon that we see with "sundogs," but not usually with the cirrus tops of big thunderstorms--but the backlighting makes it possible and thus credible".
I would say that I was lucky to be there at the right place at the right time.
