Tough Day in the Woods For a Dog
So we have about a foot and a half of snow on the ground and there is three inches of solid ice on top of that. My border collie tried at first to run and walk on the ice but would inevitably fall through and hurt her paws and ankles. Nobody else had been out on the trails since the new snow fell so there were no tracks to walk in. She learned to follow my snowshoe trail but was unable to leap and bound through the forest at her normal speed. She got tired of waiting for my slow walking and started to tread on the back of my snowshoes...
