The shotgun house in the French Quarter gets all dressed up for Christmas. A shotgun home had a straight floor plan: living room, master bedroom, bathroom, back bedroom, and kitchen. One room flows straight back into the next with a little hallway outside the bathroom that can accommodate a wash machine. My early childhood was spent in a shotgun double with the same floor plan on each side. Past the kitchen the back door led to a little back yard where our clothes line was with a tin shed all the way to the back of the yard for tools and a push non mechanical lawn mower. Classic, simple, efficient living.

A beautiful find. A lot of folks grew up in a lot more simple life than what is experienced today!
