We hadn't seen this bird around for a little awhile ...the Common Grackles are working twice as hard feeding young ones now and are making several trips back and forth to the feeder....It was good to see the Cardinal return who had a chance to get a bite to eat...We had a heat wave today and I made sure to give whatever beast or bird who comes to our feeder enough fresh water to drink .

Viewed best in light-box! Thank you!!!

It is intetresting because we have an abundance of cardinals, not many grackles and the hummrers are back. Great color in this Andrea.

Thanks for the comments...We usually see more of the cardinals after the Grackles leave
who have been taking over the feeder. They even sometimes swoop down on the squirrels
to chase them off. They most likely will be leaving the end of this month but right now they
    are busy raising their young..
