I was dismayed recently to learn that this majestic maple tree which I thought was the most beautiful tree in town was cut down about a month ago ... I remember getting out of the car to photograph it across the street on October 15, 2005 when the fall leaves were at its peak. I am glad I shot memories of this tree when I did.

Best view in light-box! Thank you!!!

It was so majestic and beautiful I can't help but wonder how old it must have been. A stunning view of this remarkable tree, Andrea.

The color is beautiful. It is sad that the pleasure of it was taken away.

Thank you all for your comments...I don't know how old the maple tree was Heather but I know it was old... perhaps it was rotting at the roots and maybe an endangerment so close to the sidewalk and road,,,New sidewalks were installed this summer and it was around that time that the tree was cut down!
