In my past studies at Cleveland's Cooper School of Art, our instructors taught us that realism in painting calls for a fine brush, many strokes and lots of detail. "Impressionism," they said, "is painted with a broad brush, fewer strokes and a buildup of shadows and color." That's what I like about digital photography - available light, stopped-down color and instant impressionism.
