It didn't take that long...
Before a gray squirrel saw the dish
E'en tho' he thought it wrong
And not according to his wish
For the easiest way to eat......
When slippery neath' the feet,
The dish stayed balanced on top
So far didn't tip over nor drop!

Squirrels have good balance too but I predict the glass dish heavy as it is might tip over on the ground eventually if too many squirrels start fighting over it, consequently didn't leave it there over night, What seeds that were left in it I scooped out on the main feeder. The birds love to get inside the dish and eat from it and they accepted it immediately ....The squirrels aren't crazy about it but they will go through a lot of bother to eat the foods they like even if it is inconvenient. This little guy was leery of the glass dish at first climbing up and down the post furtively until he finally got his up its nerve and stood inside of it. They get used to habit and he didn't know what to make of the strange new glass dish.
