I was so enchanted by these beautiful wood carvings that I decided to photograph each section of the glass display case with the little carved figures before we left the library...

The words on the sign gives the following information of what is needed to make these figures:

"Materials used to make these figures include:

A carving glove used on a person's non-dominant hand . Almost any kind of dry wood such as basswood, white pine, butternut, etc. Oil or acrylic paints are used, Several paint brushes."

What the sign doesn't say is that it takes patience , time and skill ...My late father liked to do wood carving as a hobby but a lot of his projects that he worked on were wooden fish and some were large sized. I would have loved to have seen him do something like these little figures that I saw today as I know he had the ability.
