    Thanks for the comments...The squirrels and birds load up a lot at the bird feeder all year long as I put out sunflower seeds and suet every day no matter what the season so that when it comes winter time they don't have to suffer as much when they are well fed...The red squirrels however store up pine cones in case they are snowed in and they are prepared that way...The chipmunks store away seeds from the feeder before winter which they carry in their cheek pouches to where they hibernate in the winter. They are very nature wise and smart creatures.
