Q: What is the best lens for theater photography?

A: Do you know?

It was close to 11:00 PM when I shot this picture...The raccoon was on the main feeder where I had emptied out the contents of what was left in the seed bowl that I feed the birds during the day time...I bring all of the containers in the house such as suet, jelly dish and hummingbird nectar feeder before it gets dark, otherwise the raccoons would demolish these containers. The cardinals like to eat on the feeder after all of the other birds have retired for the evening which is why I leave something out for them...they like their privacy,

Our house was pitch black and it was dark outside too except for a hazy looking moon....We and the neighborhood had a power outage last night and the problem didn't get fixed until 1:30 AM when all the lights came on. Consequently I used a flashlight as it was hard to see anything, let alone this raccoon and also turned on the flash of my camera to shoot a series of pictures through the window pane. Tippi, our dog is who alerted me to this raccoon from her watch dog position on the back of the couch.

Best View in Light box! Thank you!

I hope you didn't have to go through a series of painful rabies shots! I got chased by a mother raccoon years ago at the home place while visiting the late folks...It was in the day time and the raccoon was with her little ones. I had my camera with me and tried to shoot some pictures, that didn't turn out as I was running and. barely made it in the house....Her nose was pressed right up next to the door. and almost got slammed in it...They are very protective of their young..I learned from that lesson and will not go outside late at night to shoot pictures of raccoons nor do I let Tippi our dog outside when know there are raccoons nearby to protect her from getting bit...Raccoons are cute but they are unpredictable which is why I shoot through the window.. .

Your creative light solutions gave you a wonderful shot of this handsome fellow. I've never seen a raccoon so I thoroughly enjoy viewing them through your lens.. an excellent night shot!!
