Vahramashen Church also commonly referred to as Surb Astvatsatsin (Church of Saint Astvatsatsin OR Holy Mother of God).

Located near the Amberd Fortress, it can be seen above the conjunction of the gorges from the Amberd and Arkashen Rivers in Armenia. This church of Amberd was built for Prince Vahram Pahlavuni sometime 1026.

From the outside, it appears to be rectangular in shape. Inside it has a cruciform (shaped like a cross) layout with four two-story chambers in the corners. The church has 2 entrances, one on the north side and one on the south. There is an unusually wide center dome.
