This puts me in mind of a cuckoo clock that my folks had when I was a child ...it would chime every hour with common cuckoo's call and an automated bird that moved with each note.. ...My mother turned off the chime so she could sleep at night as it could get annoying especially at 12:00 midnight. The clock eventually was destroyed when the house we moved to in the winter time burned to the ground, in 1951 My mother never missed the clock as it was just a possession, but it was very painful for our family losing my brother who was 5 years old as result of the fire.

A beautiful capture of this little work of art! I had one given to me years ago but it came missing the key to wind it up so I've been spared that 'noisy' cuckoo Andrea referred to :)
