One of the first captures I got of this Bald Eagle who, luckily for me, turned out to be anything but camera shy. He's like an old friend to me and while I haven't seen him for awhile, he seemed very comfortable with my presence as I clicked away. Shortly after this he turned around on the power pole and gave me more beautiful poses..

Heather I think that birds do have memory for recognition...Incredibly sharp image and it does seem very comfortable in your presence....Outstanding!!! Hope to see a photo essay of your series!

Thank you, Andrea. I think you're right that birds do have memory for recognition. Once I get a few captures of any bird or animal I start talking to them and that caught his attention, too. It was right after that he turned around to face me.
