Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Petronas Twin Towers were once the tallest buildings in the world. Today it is the 7th tallest. But it still remains to be the tallest twin structure, standing 452 metres tall, 88 stories high.
The architecture is Islamic-inspired, intended to express the culture and heritage of Malaysia. Both engineering and design acknowledge the country's past and future, embracing its heritage while proclaiming its modernization.
The identical towers are linked by a bridge at the 41st and 42nd floors. It is the highest 2-story bridge in the world (175m above street level). The double decker sky-bridge is about 58m long. It is not attached to the main structure, but is instead designed to slide in and out of the towers to prevent it from breaking.
The Twin Towers have been shown in many films (Entrapment, Independence Day 2, etc.).
