Me holding my Yashica Electro 35Gt, which was the first 35mm camera I ever owned. Took this with another camera I bought, had it sitting on a 55 gallon oil drum and used the self timer.

    Good shot, good story. I married and was promoted to 1LT in '71. Army shopped me from Fort Bragg to Fort Carson, getting closer and closer to Fort Lewis and Fort Ord, where planes were waiting on passengers heading for RVN. Two more years went by. I never got those orders.

    Well captured of that memory in 1971 when I'll bet self timers weren't used as much back during that time as they are today. with the convenience of digital cameras. Although I remember taking a few selfies with a Swinger Polaroid camera back in the mid 1960's.but film was expensive and the pictures were tiny....
