To tell the truth I am not 100% sure this is a White- Throated Sparrow but if anyone knows the
identity feel free to correct me....My husband thought it could either be an American Tree Sparrow or a Song Sparrow....However, the head of this bird doesn't look like either one of them. It might be a sparrow of an entirely different species. But of course from this angle and how he is so fluffed out...It makes it a bit more difficult to identify and they might look a little different in the winter too than they do other times of the year. He is a pretty sparrow regardless of his species and so brave to withstand the cold. A chickadee flew in front of his feet at the moment that I shot this picture which why I had to crop it.

Update: 1/22/2019: I learned this is indeed a White-Throated Sparrow after seeing it from the front today. From the side view such as on this picture it of course makes it a little harder to identify. Normally this type of bird migrates in the winter to a warmer climate.

Best View in Light Box! Thank you!!!

A wonderful close-up of this very handsome bird! I agree, he definitely resembles the White-Throated Sparrow according to my bird book.. in fact the markings you've captured here are virtually identical. This is a beautiful image.

Thank you Heather..I thought it resembled the White-Throated Sparrow also ...There are so
many species of sparrows it can be confusing at times.

Thank you Lynn and Heather for your congratulations on the spotlight and comments...This brave sparrow was toughing out the cold weather and I just wish winters weren't so severe for the wild life.
