Chassahowitzka River Cracker Shack
This no longer stands above the water. The elements digested it years ago. It used to be a favorite landmark while kayaking the "Chaz". A "cracker" is slang for old time Florida folks or natives and properly refers to the black cowboys who used to herd cattle around these parts by cracking thier whips.

Great shot Dennis ~ some of the best people that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting were with a group called "The Friends of Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge". You make me wish I had taken them up on their invitation to come visit!
