Q: How do I buy more Spotlights? I'm new to the site, and I've actually already bought some, but I've forgotten how to do it!

A: Do you know?

The Tornado and the Tree was shot on May 29, 2004 in south central Kansas and was the first tornado in an out brake of storms and tornados that day in Kansas and Oklahoma. The storm that put this tornado on the Kansas landscape also made for 9 more tornados that moved along the Kansas Oklahoma line that afternoon into the night. You can read the chase story at: along with seeing more photos from that day. And learn about weather safety for you and your family at our weather safety page here:

I have always wanted to go out and try to get some images of tornados, and living in Oklahoma, you would think I would have. Nope never seen one in real life, I have seen alot of the aftermath.
You did a wonderful job with this image.

Wow! To capture a tornado with such clarity is amazing, but the fact that you have a wonderful composition with that little tree makes this photo a real stand-out! Bravo!
