Puerto Rican Day Parade 2007

The people of Goya Foods were nice enough to let me hang with them so I can get that great reaction from the crowd. The people had so much energy.

Hello, I really love this shot ! When you have some time do you think you could tell me a little more about this photo? It has inspired me to go to the homeland. I have never been to Puerto Rico, and I am now inspired to make my way there... Thanks, Lyn

    Hi Lyn
It's funny you ask. I had this shot in my head a week before I shot it. The nice people of Goya Foods were nice enough to allow me to tag along in their parade float and take pictures during the parade. The energy at the Puerto Rican Parade is out of this world from begining to end. We were marching up 5th Ave and it was a beautiful sunny day. I notice this one kid hanging over the baracade with the biggest smile and beyond him all I saw was a sea of red, white and blue but for a split second I could only see this one kid having the time of his life. I love the fact that I was able to capture that fleeting moment. I went to Puerto Rico for the first time 2 years ago. My biggest regret was not going sooner.
I'm glad I was able to inspire you.
