Star reader

When the civilization is gone only the culture survives. These standing stones are apart of a grid system to read the constellations and maybe their mythological gods. The ground was flooded you could read the position of the sun and understand the meaning of how the spring equinox is connected to farming.

I placed my head in the grooves in the roof and dreamed with the stars and watched the constellations move in the heavens.

In the In the Grove of Quercus Alba photo essay.
