This really was a split-second shot, as it usually is with shooting animals and birds. Just after I snapped this, the bird (which I think is a seagull - comment me if you know otherwise) fell backwards out of the frame!
It looks much much better viewed larger as you can see how sharply in focus the bird is (got lucky there!) but I don't know whether I can make it any larger on JPG as it is a landscape photo. Please comment me if you know!

this is as big as JPG will display it, but it does still look very good. i love the background blur
