This photo was taken during the same boat ride as my photo "..Where I've Been" on Lake Mead just outside Las Vegas. It was a swelteringly hot Summer day. A group of us headed out on a speed boat for a day of water sports, relaxation and heat control. After many long hours on the water, we saw the sun setting in the distance. We decided to call it a day and get back to shore before it was dark. We were racing towards the sunset, trying to make it to the shore before the sun set completely. We didn't think we were going to get there in time, but as we came around the last set of cliffs in our way, there it was, one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. The streaks of light, the orange color reflecting on the powder-blue water. It was gone within minutes, but the memory of that sunset will stay with me forever.
