Ruby was dropped off from a pickup truck, which sped off, leaving her alone and bewildered. She ran after the truck as long as she could before she gave up and came back. To wait, and sleep in the sandy dunes. Waiting for her owners to come back, when they never would...
We tried to make her comfortable and befriended her enough to help her find a home.
Ruby was such a sweet dog. She didn't deserve being abandoned that way. None of them deserve to be abandoned...

Lovely photo, sad story, and all too true. Two of our cats were "dumped" in a similar way, and they were just kittens. People are so clueless sometimes.

Thank you for the nice comments. Ruby found a real nice home, and she got us started with the dog rescue group we now volunteer with. She was a very sweet animal.
