Over The Hill
This is part of an independent photo study I did in my last year of school. I decided to try to shoot non traditional shots of my home town's industrial landscape. Most people see these stacks as a disgusting eye sore obscuring the sunset on the west side. I never really agreed with that.
Here is a shot from where the General Hospital used to be in Saint John, New Brunswick. It's a big hill that gives you an (almost) unobscured view of the refinery. This picture gives a pretty accurate view of what it's like to the eye. The blue mill and the yellow street lights really clash like that. It's like seeing 2 different worlds crash face first into eachother.
