Hot! In Human Impact

i'm not usually one to take pictures of wildlife. this morning however, called for an exception. i went out for a walk in the city streets of beautiful boston, with camera at my side (of course), and came upon a wild hawk, of all things, that had just caught it's breakfast - a dirty rat! i managed to get about a foot away from the beast, and snapped a few pictures. needless to say, wild hawks don't belong in the big city and were introduced to control the rodent population - they call it bio-pest control and is a rather controversial yet common practice where a predator is introduced to limit the spread of unwanted critters. i guess it's working...

Really great perspective. If the birds were introduced then this is an excellent cover shot for their story. Beautifully coloured. Saturation is spot on.
