Charlie and Gabriel
Charlie Hoffman dropped out of a doctoral program in U.S. History to devote himself full time to making guitars. His shop, Charles A. Hoffman Handmade Guitars is located at 2219 East Franklin Ave. in
Minneapolis, Minnesota. His guitars now number in the hundreds. I photographed Charlie with his son, Gabriel--who has also made guitars--for my Fathers Series.
