The Ontario Government demolished this Coal Fired Power Stn. in June 2006. The demolition was rushed as a good faith to a commitment to phase out coal-fired energy, and the buildings were brought down before being cleared of their 'contents'

2 years later and this demolished mess remains under heavy guard, visible from the Lakefront Promenade Park, the Lakeview Park and thelake itself.

The demolition of this station was the equivilent of taking 30, 000 cars off the road.
