Hello, I like the idea a lot, and if you don't mind, this is my humble opinion:

    - the pot, the blood: great!
    - the vignette: everyone uses it that way, I would probably make it much stronger, or just not use it.
    - the closed curtains: great idea, to enhance the feel of a bloody secret, am I right?
    - the chair: hmm, looks like a student class, maybe i would have used a simple wooden one, countryside kind
    - the color: I would have intensified the blue, to make it dark and gloomy!
    - the light: the lighting is obviously missing (just my opinion, maybe you want it this way, of course!), so the photo is very flat. Lighting could bring a dramatic feel to the scene, with directional shadows (chair, desk) and bring the texture out. In Photoshop, use of the High Pass filter could be interesting also... Just one light, coming from the right side (pot side) and beaming down, and another one for furniture shadows, lower? Or just one, coming from mid hight?
    - camera angle, composition: I would have probably tried from a lower angle, or higher (probably both, lol!), but like you, centered on the subject.

I think it's a very nice idea, that can be thought many ways... I believe your idea was to create an every day feel (nothing special is happening, aka the simple light), and adding the uncomfortable feel of the blood and pot. In that case, I would have made the contrast of the 2 feels even more obvious.

Hope my comment is constructive :-)
    Good job overall!
