Fish hook Barrel Cactus
The barrel cactus bloom in July and August during the annual monsoon season in Tucson. There are a variety of orange, yellow and even pink blossoms with a translucent petal that almost looks like wax. The yellow pollon stems are so deep a honey bee can be completely out of sight inside.
Don't smell these too close or you might end up with a bee up your nose.
