A tired and weary Sgt Madden, of Marine Air Support Squadron 1, sits waiting on a K/C-130J Hercules aircraft to fly from Al Teqaddum Airbase, Iraq to Ali Al Salem Airbase, Kuwait - one leg in the long trip of redeployment back to the US.
January 2008, MASS-1 completed a 14-month tour in Iraq, mainly at Camp Al Fallujah. Thankfully all members of MASS-1 returned to their families and loved ones. Today (as of January 2009) the unit is back in Iraq do it's mission for another 14-months - "Killin' bad guys, savin' good guys."

You are an amazing photographer with a definite eye for capturing that perfect "story-telling" moment. The lighting on your subject is great, as with so much of your work. Fantastic!

These guys deserve any glory they recieve and more. I may not agree with the war but I respect our soldiers above all.
