Shipping channels allow large ships to pass in and out of the trade harbors and ports, carrying huge gallons of oil, fertilizer, and other hazardous materials. It is said that the trade activity is necessary for "economic growth." Much the same in respects to economic growth, is also said about the millions of tourists that sunbathe along these same waters.
