The Mammoth Remembered

The Mammoth is probably the first victim of human activity. The mass extinction of this species due to overhunting by humans is controversial, but this beast is the ultimate symbol of human impact and environmental change.

The mammoth on this picture was found somewhere in Soho during an expedition in New York in 2007.
