Q: what happened to the themes and the challenges?

A: Do you know?

This was taken on a farm in central Minnesota. The overuse of fertilizers has choked this creek with algae until nothing else can live in it. It is quit striking to see a green ribbon stretching out in front of you like this. Oddly enough this was taken from a low bridge that led right to the farmers home. He and his family had to drive by this ecological distaster each day to leave or enter thier farm. Yet I have a feeling nothing will be done differently this coming season.

outstanding entry for this theme! the over use of fertilizer is a HUGE problem. I highly recommend Jared Diamond's "Collapse" as essential reading
