50 years ago the Cape Cod shoreline was not as populated with huge vacation homes as it is now. My family still has its original beach cottage, but the dunes have been crowded and run down with more and more houses since then.
Here is my grandfather and his two brothers fishing on the same beach I have gone to each summer for 17 years.
The McMansion families are there to stay.

i think all organisms are greedy in the sense that they try to keep themselves alive, but yes, we humans consciously make decisions to be greedy at the expense of destroying something else.
