The flower was one day "fresh". On the first day that it opens it is white. On the second day it is this color.

This is a photograph of a giant Amazon water lily (Victoria amazonica) in the Conservatory of Flower at Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, on a bright overcast day.

The photo is shown as full frame with no modifications. I like to use this photo as an example that a good photograph is not made by the equipment but by the photographer and the photographer mastery of the equipment.

The photo was taken hand held with a Canon G3 fix zoom lens camera. The lens was set as full zoom (140 mm) with 2x magnifier accessory lens (effective 280 mm). 1/800, F/4, ISO 50, spot metering for the highlights. The camera was set at the macro setting to achieve the shorter depth of field which is hard to get with the Canon G3.
