Because snow can really pile up, fire hydrants in Utah have long metal poles with flags to help the firefighters locate them, even when buried.

    Haha, yeah, I kept thinking it looked like the love child between a hydrant and mailbox. Could be the snow is part of the reason some towns here don't have mailboxes, only PO boxes.
